Honors/Scholars

Hi everyone! So I was wondering if anyone has heard back about their acceptance into honors/scholars, especially scholars. I applied for International Affairs and really want to know if I got in. If you have gotten into one of the programs, did you find out by mail or email?

Haven’t heard yet. Still waiting! I hear they’re supposed to tell us soon though - at least those who were admitted in November…

Son’s Honors acceptance arrived in the mail on 12/29…he is instate, CSE.

I received mine today; however, I’m in-state.

I received mine today and I live in California. Still no info on scholarships…

I was accepted to Ohio State, and just called today about applying for Scholars. Hopefully it doesn’t take long for a decision!

What did the honors letter say? And when did you get accepted?

I’m in-state, and received an Honors notification towards the end of December, but nothing on Scholars.

keenandgear…have you heard anything about scholarships?

@keenandgear: if you were notified about and accepted into Honors, you are no longer considered for Scholars. It’s almost as if Honors is first on the pecking order, and Scholars gets the Scholars-only apps along with the Honors/Scholar apps who are declined Honors.

My son felt that the Scholars program was a distinct advantage to OSU. Since he could apply to Honors as a current student, he chose to apply only to Scholars.

I’m OOS and still haven’t heard anything about scholarships or honors, though I’m pretty sure I qualify for both…

What kind of stats did you guys have?

4.2 gpa 32 act

Ahhh and when did you get accepted?

Just realized I might not get mine for a while since I changed my major from something in the business school to something in arts and sciences, and they had to re-evaluate me. I just got a second acceptance yesterday :p

@mtown27, I didn’t realize that! Darn, I very much liked the Scholars program too.
@yankees3311, I received an email about a week ago about the Eminence scholarship, but I haven’t received any other notifications I think. I know OWU has competitions for their scholarships, can you imagine how hectic that would be for OSU?

Here’s where I got the info about the process if you apply to BOTH programs.

[Scholars: Visit/Apply](http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/scholars/visitapply.aspx)

Click the Application Process tab and see the paragraph about halfway down the page.

I got this e-mail from them:

Hello Sara,

I looked at your profile and you applied for both the Honors and Scholars programs. We are just beginning to send out Honors acceptance letters, and we send out a new batch each week. At this point, no news is simply no news and nothing to worry about! You should hear back by mid to late March at the latest. If you are not admitted to Honors, your application will then be reviewed by the Scholars committee since you applied for Scholars as well. Regardless of which program you are admitted to, you will have an answer by late March. You will also be notified if you are not admitted to either program, and you would receive that letter by early April at the latest. If you are not admitted to Honors but are instead offered admission into a scholars program, you will not receive a denial letter for honors; instead, you will receive your scholars acceptance letter.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please let me know!

Thanks,
