Honors Section Question

When I was looking over my college applications recently, I noticed I put “Accepted into National Honor Society” in the honors section of my Common App instead of just “National Honor Society.” I meant that I had been accepted but not yet inducted. Somebody told me that colleges will think “Accepted into NHS” will make colleges think I got accepted into it and then kicked out of it but still wanted recognition for it or something like that. Is this something I should be worried about? I applied to some pretty selective schools, and I don’t want to get rejected or wait-listed for something as small as this. The thing that worries me is I just put “Spanish National Honor Society” above it, as I had already been inducted into that last year. It looks weird to have just “Spanish National Honor Society” followed by “Accepted into National Honor Society.” I just don’t want colleges to think I got kicked out of NHS or anything like that. Should I email the admissions offices and risk sounding desperate or just not worry?

You are overthinking this. Its completely fine. Being in NHS doesn’t really even matter for admissions.

If you get rejected or wait-listed, it won’t be because of this.

Thanks to you both. Your replies helped answer my questions. I won’t worry over it anymore. I was told that there are hundreds of thousands of members of NHS, so I can definitely see why being a member can’t mean that much to admissions. I wasn’t expecting it to tip the scales in my favor or anything anyway. At least I have a couple other more noteworthy honors listed, so it’s not like this is the only thing for them to look at.
