Accepted? Denied? Get your letter? Post it here:

No letter if it doesn’t come today we have to wait two more days! Argh!

Just checked…no letter. Pretty sure that means rejection haha

They never guaranteed that acceptances will be mailed first instead of in a batch with waitlist/rejections. Don’t worry about it unless people are starting to get mail from Honors.

Good point, thanks : )

Nothing yet!

Is the acceptance rate really 8%? anyone know typical stats?

Honors FAQ Here: [UW Honors - Application FAQ](Application FAQ | University of Washington Honors Program)

It says:

Incoming Freshmen, 2010
Total applications: 2,691
Admitted to Honors: 709
Enrolled in UW Honors: 220
Average Highschool GPA: 3.92
Average SAT: 2070
Average ACT: 31

Thanks! So more like a 28% acceptance.

Closer to that. If I recall correctly, the ‘admitted’ number includes waitlisted students who eventually were accepted, but I might be wrong on that.

Anyone receive anything yet?

Mail came today, nothing in it.

Hey guys, I’m a peer mentor for the Honors program. We got an email from the advisors today, and I’d like to quote one part:

“All UW decision letters were mailed March 15-30, while Honors admissions decisions were mailed beginning April 1 (we’re almost done mailing – all letters will be mailed by the end of this week)”

This means that not all letters have been sent out yet. Good luck!

Will honors decisions be apparent n the MYUW section anywhere? The unofficial transcript loaded about a week prior to the mail arriving. Thanks

Uhh, I’m not sure when it showed up on my unofficial transcript, but there’s a little blurb here (I also copied what was written above and below it):

ANY ALTERATION OR MODIFICATION OF THIS RECORD *

OR ANY COPY THEREOF MAY CONSTITUTE A FELONY *

AND/OR LEAD TO STUDENT DISCIPLINARY SANCTIONS. *
**************************************************

HONORS PROGRAM

ETHNICITY/RACE: ASIAN

I’m not sure when this showed up on my unoff transcript though. I’m pretty sure I didn’t see it until later, so I wouldn’t count this as an indicator that you were rejected/waitlisted if your unofficial transcript does not say anything.

I don’t have that
Mine says Special Program: UNIV EXT because I’m in a UW French class at my high school, but that’s it :/

Again, I don’t know when it showed up on my unofficial transcript. I’m pretty sure it was during the summer though. The only thing to do now is wait. I know you guys have waited for a REALLY long time (I got my Honors letter in January… last year.), just a few more days left!

If anyone gets a letter from the honors program, please let us know. Also, do they typically send out rejection letters first?

I would think it would show up on the unofficial transcript after you accept being in Honors, not before, as many opt out even if admitted.

@niksabs - Last year, they sent out letters in batches from January to April, with acceptances in the first two batches, then a mix. I don’t know how it is this year. We’ll just have to see.

@tessey64 - Makes sense!
