Honors US History & APUSH at the Same Time?

Hi, I was wondering if it was wise to take Honors US History and APUSH at the same time during my junior year, or would it be too much of a workload? I do really love history, and as I’d be going into my junior year, it’d be my last chance to take Honors US History at my school.

So should I do them both at the same time or put off APUSH for senior year?

Is there a reason why you want to take both? Usually, students take one or the other. I believe APUSH is a junior year-only course. Seniors take Government & Economics. (Or a whole year of government or economics if they enroll in an AP)

Rather than taking honors us history, I think you should take just AP. If you love history and want to do well in the class it will be the challenge that you need. That space in your schedule would also allow you to take another class

Neither. There is no reason to take both, and due to the high overlap, I cannot imagine a HS even allowing it.

They’re the same class, except that APUSH is more in-depth and includes more primary source analysis. You take one OR the other. (Think: Algebra 1 and Algebra 1H.)
If you love history, you can take AP Euro (Europe from the Renaissance to today) or AP World (non-European History from prehistory to roughly the 20th century.)

I wasn’t even aware that schools allowed such a thing (taking an AP class and its honors equivalent).

If you really love history, there is AP Art History, AP European History, and other AP history classes. AP CompGov does not focus on but does cover a lot of history in its 6 nations.

Doing APUSH and honors US History is really just a waste of your schedule slot.
