Are there any significant differences between the two? Are you guaranteed to have honors housing if you are in the honors college? Also, if you are in the honors college, what will be different for you than if you would have been in the regular college (concerning classes taken, and any other differences)?

You’re not guaranteed honors housing if you’re in honors. It’s “first come, first serve” kind of thing…based on when you deposit. Honors kids do NOT have to live in honors housing.

There are honors and non-honors Super Suites which are the most expensive.

There are traditional dorms that are much less expensive. There are honors kids in traditional dorms, so that is totally ok…

*Also, if you are in the honors college, what will be different for you than if you would have been in the regular college (concerning classes taken, and any other differences)? *

Those in the Honors College have priority registration. Classes in the Honors College are smaller…not more than 15 kids per class.

Meaning what, exactly? Registration for housing?

If you are in the honors college, are all the courses you take honors courses?

So there are no honors housing that have the same prices as regular housing?

Registration for classes. Honors kids register before others.

No…most upper division courses are not honors, nor do they need to be. Upper Division courses are usually smaller anyway, and typically the students in those classes are in that particular major because it reflects their strengths.

And, some lower division courses don’t have an honors version or don’t have one that fits in a particular student’s schedule. My kids’ schedule had a mix of honors and regular classes as lower division students.

No, the honors housing is all Super Suites. However, many honors kids do not choose to live in honors housing because of their higher cost.

Inet …

Registration …

No …

That’s a hard one … there are many different living learning housing groups in many different buildings around campus. Many of those kids may in fact be Honors Students, and each of those Halls may have a cheaper price, or just different prices than the north Campus Suites style housing that people equate to the Honors Dorms. However, as has been stated here, and on other posts, there are Suite style dorms in the newer north campus that are NOT set aside for Honors, and some Honors may even choose to live on a non-Honors floor in those buildings, just as they might choose to live for example in Tut to be nearer to the sororities.

Just one very important caveat: If you are an Honors College Student and you choose to live in a non-honors residence hall (or floor) as a freshman you can NEVER go into an honors housing residence.

How much more does the least expensive honors housing cost than the least expensive regular housing? What are the physical differences between the two?

Are you a rising senior? Have you applied? Good luck to you.

^ Yes, I’m a rising senior. I have not applied, though, because I need to improve my ACT scores.

Are the prices listed per person, or per room?

per person prices…

The differences between the Honors Super Suites and the standard double rooms is …

Standard doubles share a bedroom and either have a bathroom between 2 bedrooms or community bathrooms.

the honors super suites are more like apartments. Each student has a private bedroom in a 4 bedroom super suite. The super suite has a kitchenette, a living room and 2 bathrooms.

many kids move off campus after the first year to get less expensive housing.
