Honors vs. scholars housing helppppp!!!!

I was admitted into the scholars program for the fall 2013 semester. A close friend of mine was admitted to the honors program. We've been planning to be roommates for a while now and I called resident life and they said it is possible and that I would probably be put into honors housing (meaning I wouldn't be living with the rest of the scholars.)

I wanted to get your opinions on living with another group. Do you think I would miss out not living with the other scholars? Should I go for the better dorms and stay with the honors kids? I really want to stay with my friend but I don't want to miss out on anything.

Thanks in advance!

Any opinions from current students?

I think the Scholars live together in living/learning communities. I would go for the Scholars housing. You’ll still be friends with your good friend and you’ll make tons of new friends, too. Plus it might be a little weird to live in the Honors housing.

Yeah I was thinking that too. Thanks for your advice!

I am a sophomore in scholars and I lived in scholars housing last year and currently live with my three closest friends (all whom I met through scholars). 100% choose living in scholars housing. You will meet so many new people both in your scholars program as well as in other programs. These people will become your closest friends for years to come!
