Honors weekend in March

Anyone else going?

It depends upon the DHS scholarship outcome!!

Yes, we are taking my son regardless of the outcome of the DHS. We already booked airfare and hotel. We can’t wait!!

what is the definition of Honors Weekend? Who is invited?

When you are accepted, they tell you if you were also accepted into the honors program, if so, they you are invited to the campus for one of the two honors weekends.

I’m almost certain at this point that I’ll be in attendance

im going!! booked my flight today!

My Daughter will be there.

My son will attend.

Did we have to RSVP for honors weekend?..
I haven’t really thought about that until now =_=;;;

Either way (: I’m going~

Yes, you need to tell them you are coming so they can have a packet ready for you. There is info in the packet about registration while at the Honors Weekend. FOr those that did not know this, Honors student can pre-register for classes during Honors Weekend, even if you have not committed to Tulane. If you don’t decide on Tulane, they just wipe it out. If you do, then you already have that done, which is huge.

Anyway, there should be a form to fill out and send to admissions. Not sure where it is, I think they should have mailed it to you. Anyway, call or e-mail admissions and ask about it. I am 100% sure you need to RSVP, because the student stays with a current student, so they have to arrange that as well.

hey everyone, feel free to PM me if you have any questions about honors weekend, or tulane in general.

my roomie and i are probably going to be signing up to host someone, so maybe i’ll see one of you guys in march  get ready for a fun weekend!!

My daughter lost her info for honors weekend dates and RSVP info, can you share please so I can book flights?

[Tulane Admission: Honors](http://admission.tulane.edu/honorsweekend/index.php)

There was a link to RSVP included in the Honors Wkd invite. My son responded within 24hrs and there was already a waitlist for overnight dorm stays which were offered for the Sunday night of the visit.
Fallen Chemist- Thanks for the heads up re: pre-registration.

miparent- the same thing happened to me last year. i got waitlisted and didn’t get to stay with a student over night :frowning: if anyone really wants to overnight it, though, i can probably put you in touch with a student in your academic discipline who wouldn’t mind hosting a prospie!

honors weekend is really fun, but i know i wish i had gotten to stay with a student. i think it would have given me a better feel for tulane.

I agree with tulane14, and that is really nice of her to make such an offer! It is funny though, my D’s host wasn’t able to be much of a host (cheerleader that had obligations and like 2 papers to write, I think), so she really didn’t get much out of that part, but she chose Tulane anyway. But most seem to think it is a positive experience that helps them decide on Tulane.

Tulane14: Your help would be great!
My son is interested in political science and would appreciate the opportunity to stay with or chat with a current poli sci student while on campus 3/20-21. I’m still learning how this discussion board works but will try to connect thru messaging. many thanks!

Fallen chemist: My son was able to schedule a summer camp at another college that was & is high on his list. It was not the same experience as a school year overnight but helped all the same.

miparent - No college visit of course, even during the semester like Tulane’s will be, can give the full experience of being there on a daily basis as a full time student. But it is the closest one can get, for sure. I hope he enjoys his weekend at Tulane.

Fallen Chemist: Thanks. Tulane will be his final visit and is a geographic outlier for him. His other top choices are in DC & VA.
