I am apllying to MIT (MIT=Massachusetts Institute of Technology). I have Honourable mention from International Mathematical Olympiad. I need need-base finnacial aid. Do I have chance to make MIT?

it really depends on where you come from and your other stats. having said that, international olympiads are always welcome at a tech school like MIT :)

Qualifying for IMO in first place is a plus to your application, even more so is a honorable mention. You have a chance, but it will depend on your other stats (SATs, GPA, activities, etc.) Keep in mind that while a number of IMO gold medalists get accepted to MIT every year, quite some of them get rejected too. As for financial aid, MIT is need-blind (does not care about your financial status) when it comes to reviewing applications.

Depends what U got in ECs, essays and stats.
I know a paraguayan guy who has a HM and got into both MIT and Stanford, perhaps he get a lot more to show that a HM… I dunno.
But I also know bronce and even silver medalists rejected at MIT.
With so much gold medalists, an IMO experience is not wow for MIT so it just treat it like one of those awards that everyone have, so what makes difference is rest of ECs and essay. good luck.
