How much is being an Athletic Recruit a "hook" with admissions??

Depends what level the student is at in their sport and how much the sport is in demand that year.

It can’t hurt but your child still needs the grades and test scores. Being a great athlete is that students entire resume. Whereby, kids that are just academic will have a resume of Science Olympiad, Start up companies, and Intel Finalist, your kid will have a resume based on his his/her athletics.

As a whole this is true, of course both types of students will have other things on their resume but hopefully, you get what I’m saying.

Good luck!!!

Your stats are certainly stellar!!! Has Stanford contacted you regarding athletic recruitment?

Yes…my son has been talking to a Coach for a few months now :)

Wow! I guess its up to the coach there now. Good luck, I wish you the best. The good news is that if they are interested in your son athletically, he has the grades. Looks like you’re in good shape.

Let us know how things go. My fingers are crossed. Stanford is a great school. There’s nothing not to love!

Thanks Dungareedoll…he can use all of the good wishes he can get!

He is going to do great. He’s the full package. Congrats to you MDMOM you’ve done a great job. Remember to exhale once and awhile and just enjoy the year!
