Hoooray!! Rejected!!

After receiving my acceptance packet three weeks ago, I found a rejection letter on my mailbox.
Dear Sam,

We have arrived at the end of our application review period, and I am sorry to say that we are unable to offer you a space in this year's entering class.

blah blah..
But in the same mail box, there was another mail sent by USC!!
Dear Sam,

Congratulations on your acceptance to USC's College of Letter, Arts & Sciences and, on behalf of the College, welcome to our community of scholars.

Oooookay.

I am really confused

am I rejected or accepted?

I already received a fat packet that has housing and meal informations and other stuffs.

Uh.. that's odd. you might want to email them or something about that. I think you are in.

I know this doesn't help you, but I think you are in too

Oh wait...there's one other thing

on the acceptance letter
my name is written as

John Doe
123 Washington St.
Nowhere, AK 99999

but on the rejection letter it is

John John Doe
123 Washington Street
Nowhere, AK 99999

Maybe I somehow turned in two applications :|

I don't know..

I would definitely call & e-mail & have your GC call & e-mail ASAP if you're at all interested in attending USC.

That is bizarre. I hope you get this sorted out.

Definitely CALL and get this sorted out ASAP.

Then it's a good thing that your name is John Doe, and not John John Doe. lol :)
If you did send the same app w/ the same credentials twice, it's wierd how one was rejected; maybe it's some sort of name discrimination.
See you next fall!

haha, shows how random the admissions process is!

Any news? I hope it's not a mistake or anything...Good luck.

here's a good way to check which letter is correct..check the postmark date. the later the date, the more accurate the letter.

Even if they say you are rejected, getting an admit packet sould be enough to argue with.

False advertising.

Turned down other schools.

Stuff like that

juss call them.

let us know too! im curious.:D

Instead of calling, doesn't it seem safer for "John" to simply send in his forms? Forget about "John John" .....he'll have to attend somewhere else!

True riparian, but then again you don't want to show up on move-in day and have them tell you "what the h e l l are you doing here?"
