...for ED. Anyone else? It sure feels good to see those little green triangles on the common app site haha!

For anyone who has already submitted, will I be getting an email about alumni interviews/other required stuff soon? Also, do I have to create some sort of account to check my application status (I know I had to do that for University of Florida)?

Thanks and good luck to all '14ers! :)

Ahhhh I’m still debating whether or not I should cut out my first paragraph from my Why Duke essay!! Grrr both my teachers told me to cut it out since the directions ask for 1-2 paragraphs (and I have 3) but I feel it’s so vital and important to my career and an amazing reason why I want to go to Duke! If not for this dilemma I would’ve submitted my supplement already. =_=

But congrats to you! Good luck to the other ED '14ers!
(p.s. I’m a Floridian and applying to UF too, what a coincidence.)

As far as I know, the admissions officers at Duke mentioned that contact is done through either email or phone. I personally am not applying to Duke ED and don’t know, but that’s just what the administration at Duke as told me.

I think you should either go with your gut feeling and submit your supplement just as it is. I’m sure that the 1-2 paragraph limit was instituted to prevent applicants from writing 300-page biographies. If you feel that your essay is absolutely perfect with 3 paragraphs and will really show the admissions officers why you absolutely want to go, then go for it. If you feel a little bit paranoid about the whole 1-2 paragraphs, I would suggest finding a way to possibly combine paragraphs. But its entirely up to you =D

I’m also an applicant to the Duke Class of '14, but I’m a regular decision applicant (darn those FA issues). Anyhow, good luck with the early decision and hopefully we’ll see each other next year ;P

@nluu- alright, thanks… I’d much rather get contacted by email haha, talking to someone who is possibly deciding my future seems kind of unnerving to me
@keikoblue- I definitely agree with nluu! go for it- I’m sure those few words could really make a difference and make you look great to the adm officer… & GO GATORS!

I also submitted my application for ED!! I got an e-mail saying they received it and that they would send my information to the regional alumni interviewers, so I’m assuming we’ll get e-mails soon enough.
As for a place to check application status, Duke has something called “The D” with an application checklist. [The D: Application Checklist](http://www.admissions.duke.edu/status/status.html)
It’s not working right now but it says it’ll be up later this week I guess. I have an account from last year (not sure why I made one), but I’m hoping that won’t cause problems this year with checking my application and admission decision.

yeah, I made an account yesterday haha and I got the email this morning hopefully it’ll be working soon!

on the duke website it says they would e-mail us our usernames and passwords, so do you think it’s a problem that we already made usernames?

your usernames and passwords are generated after you submit your app.

also i was called by my interviewer and we setup an interview, it was really fun

YAAAAAY I just signed on to the application checklist and it says they’ve received everything that I’ve sent it!! That’s such a relief. Now I just need to get my counselor and teachers to send in their stuff so I can stop worrying about it.
