I'm not exactly 100% sure about this, but I strongly thing that after lurking around CC that all of the applicants on here are some of the top candidates for the prep schools they are applying to!
I have seen your guys stats, and they are amazing let me tell you.
A girl in my school applying for prep school (SPS and Loomis) believes she has a strong chance of getting in, and she doesn't have great stats....not at all more like it, not trying to be hurtful though (-:

I just want to say that I think all of you have great chances and this may sound reallllly weird but by being on here I have felt more confident in the process and less "alone" you might say, and there's been a lot of helpful information on here, too.

In all, I want you to know, you have really good chances at your schools, and I wish you ALL the best of luck in your prep school journey!!!

I suspect you are correct. And having been here for a while, look back at last year. There were lots of disappointed people, but most got in somewhere they wanted. If it is possible, try to stay detached until you hear and THEN fall in love with whoever admits you. There are lots of people here who will convince you that the school that admitted you is THE ONLY and the Best school. It is. Just let the tide take you! I see teens now posting how their school is the best, yet at this time last year they were in love with a different school. All are great, just in slightly different ways.

Remember most of you here are motivated and really care whether you get in. Many, many don’t or their parents want it. Most of you are here because YOU want it. It will all be fine.

I feel exactly the same! For the most part I feel completely alone since I can’t tell the kids at school (not like they’d understand anyways) and I have 0 experience. This site is really helping me get through these weeks approaching March 10th in addition to teaching me so much about this process. Thanks!

I saw soooooo many kids that looked both mad to be at the schools i visited (mainly andover and exeter) and really whiny and annoying parents. they think they are helping but in reality boarding schools wants kids that actually want to go to their school, not those who are being forced. here on CC everybody wants to actually go and has a lot of motivation, great great things

when i got into taft, i fell absolutely in love with it… and it killed me to have to leave. during those years, i NEVER thought i’d even think about going to loomis. i was all, ew loomis… taft is so much better. but i look at it again, and it’s like, an awesome school.

so there’s never really only ONE school that you can fall in love with. everything happens for the best. after these past couple of weeks, that’s what i’ve learned.
