I have a 3.8 GPA (unweighted, HOPE GPA) but my Combined SAT Reading and Math score is only 1110, not 1200... can I still get HOPE, and how much does it pay towards tuition?

Tennessee or Georgia? In Georgia, you don’t need any SAT score for the HOPE scholarship, just 3.0 GPA. The benefit varies by school, but it’s roughly 90% tuition at Georgia Publics. In Tennessee, the minimum SAT is 980, so you’d qualify there also. I don’t know the Tennessee amounts.

GA HOPE award amount covers a percentage of tuition for a HOPE 3.0 GPA. Amount determined annually, subject to change each year. The Zella Miller award covers full standard-rate tuition for a HOPE 3.7 & score at least a 1200 cr +m or at least a 26 ACT.

So 2013-14 tuition & fees are $9,842 and HOPE will cover approx. up to 1/3 with Zell covering additional 1/3 (stacked). The numbers are found at gacollege 411 dot org. Unfortunately, the percentages are diminishing each year :(

Just realized that Zell may not cover full tuition in future years. Nevertheless, there is a large gap with HOPE alone. You need that 3.7 for Zell Miller!

Sorry! Tables also show different tuition for each GA school. So my numbers were for UGA.
