hope you can help me :(

Hello everyone,

I'm an international student, and I am going to take us history subject test in january. So, I have only left 2 months to prepare for the exam. I am not familiar with the us history, because my school did not provide me with us history class. What can I do? If I study hard, can I achieve a good score? What preparation books are recommended to use?
How should I use my time in order to score well on the exam?
If you recommend something, you will help me a lot. Thank you in advance, hope you can help me.

I am an international student just like you. I am taking the world history test on December 3rd. History is really broad, but I am using the Princeton Review prep book. The book outlines the chapters in a very straightforward manner.
I suggest you should get the book first (2011-2012 edition), and briefly look at the US History review sections. If you are finding it hard to understand any of the material, purchase a simple US history text book online, or anywhere you can find it in your country.

P.S. You can order the Princeton Review prep book from Amazon. (If you don’t find it around)

  • Name of the book: “Cracking the SAT
U.S and World History subject tests 2011-2012 edition.”

Some tips:

-Practice a lot
-Try your hands on some sample questions at the college board website
-Sleep well the day before the test
-Knowing how to take the test itself is very important, information is in a way second place
-Always have era-based thinking (you will come to know what I am talking about)
-Store away the information you learn, in your mind under a few headings related to eras. That way, your mind will act like a chain reaction; specifics won’t matter you would only need to remember the headings, and then everything else would come out.

As for time, try the questions today; and try to get the book as soon as possible. Also, cheer up!

Hope this helps.
Good Luck.:)

Why do you have to take US History? If it is not specifically required, I would do other subjects in which I don’t have to start from scratch.

Have you taken Math? Perhaps Phy/Chem/Bio if you take sciences at school? Literature should also be a good option.
