You’re a great candidate, but unfortunately (like you noted) great candidates are pretty average in this pool. It will definitely come down to your essays.

Apply to all of them, if you think you’d be happy at them all, and see what happens.

Also, definitely pick some backup schools: possibly Haverford, Hamilton (if you don’t mind their sizes) Emory, or Wake Forest.

haha I actually have legacy at Hamilton. Unfortunately its a little too small, cold and close to home for my taste. I’m going to apply to BU and BC. U of Rochester has offered me some money so I will do that route too. Also George Washington U. Thanks for your time and input!

I think you’re a strong candidate and you can definitely can try in all of them. Yale is the highest reach I think. It all depends on your essays at this point, that is what will make you stand out in my opinion. Brown and UPenn are low reach and the others match. Pick some safeties. The only thing that is a little bit low is ACT math, though the composite is fine so I wouldn’t be so worried about it. Good luck! :)

Thanks for your input! So nervous about trying to write really good essays. I don’t want to be cliche or boring or stupid. Any advice?

I’m wondering if you should take the SAT. 33 on the ACT is very good, but you got 800s on a couple of SAT Subject Tests, so you may do very well on the SAT.

I’ve taken practice SAT I and just never done as well on the ACT. Standardized math testing is very difficult for me for some reason (I do well in my school math class 98s etc) and the ACT (as low as it is) was still much better than my SAT math section
