Hopeful Transfer student question about scores!

Hi all,

I plan to apply to Yale to transfer into the class of 2014. I have a quick question about which scores (SAT or ACT) I should report to them. I know that whichever I choose, Yale will ask me to report all of them (subsequent ACT scores being self-reported); this poses a bit of a dilemma, so hopefully y'all can help me out.

SAT:
First attempt: 790 Math/740 CR/710 Writing (8 essay)
Second attempt (poor; not exactly sure what happened): 760 Math/670 CR/660 Writing (7 essay)
Third attempt: 770 Math/760 CR/690 Writing (8 essay)

ACT:
First attempt: Composite= 33 (English 35/Math 34/Reading 34/Science 30; 31 combined English and writing score, 8 essay)
Second attempt: Composite= 33 (English 34/Math 35/Reading 32/Science 29; 31 combined English and writing score, 8 essay)
Third attempt: Composite= 33 (English 34/Math 35/Reading 33/Science 30; 30 combined English and writing score, 7 essay)

Obviously, neither situation is ideal...at all.

So does anyone have any advice as to which set of tests I should send in?

Thanks to anyone who responds. I really appreciate the advice.

Your superscore SAT = 1550 (CR+M), 2260

According to:

[SAT-ACT Conversion chart](http://teachers.sduhsd.k12.ca.us/lccounseling/sat-act_conversion_chart.htm)

[ACT-SAT Concordance](The ACT Test for Students | ACT)

ACT 33 converted = about 1460, 2190

so don’t even bother sending ACT scores?

Thank you for the response btw.

That would be my advice because:

The ACTs don’t give any evidence of higher testing scores compared to your SATs.

Since you took both tests three times each, you run the risk of being viewed as test obsessed by adcoms.

both good points.

final questions:
I have two 800 SAT II’s (Math ii and US History). I am currently taking a physics course, took one in high school as well. Would it be worth it to try and get an 800 on the physics SAT ii?

And, though I feel I already know the answer to this, would it be worth it for me to take the SAT again? I’m thinking no, since superscored, 1550 is solid. But just thought I’d throw it out there if I studied my ass off and felt confident in a 2350+…

Again, I really appreciate the advice. I’m just trying to maximize my chances.

No, don’t take either. You’re a college student now, you’re done with SATs. Subject tests are for HS students and 3 is the max you want to take any test, read this from Ys Dean of Admissions:

Brenzel uses a lot of weasel words like ‘primary consideration’, ‘it can be helpful’ and ‘not necessarily’, but you get the drift.

Believe me, a few more points on a standardized test is not going to increase your chances of transferring. At this point in time there are so many more important things you should be doing.

Thank you so much for all of your advice. It is very helpful.
