Hoping for help with picking a 3rd test...

First post here… so hello!

Applying EA to Georgetown… GPA, course load, ACT, extracurriculars, etc. definitely gives me a good chance, but the SAT II’s have been my weakness. My first two were 700’s in U.S. History and Literature and I’m pretty desperate to have that 3rd test be right there as well.

I’m an above-average Spanish student, multiple years of Honors and currently in AP, but I’m not a native speaker nor am I fluent. Math has always been my worst subject, but if I worked at it every day until Oct. 1, I’m hoping I could get a respectable score on the Math 1.

Basically what it comes down to is, should I take the Spanish despite the challenge of going up against native speakers or should I spend all my time until then trying to make myself less terrible at math and take Math 1?

Go for Math I. I took Math II but I’m pretty sure Math I is algebra based.

I think the percentiles for all language test scores are computed separately for native and non-native speakers; that is they aren’t lumped together because clearly native speakers have an advantage.

Take Spanish. Georgetown likes to see a language and the curve on math 1 is wicked.

Take the test that is the strongest content area for you. I know a number of students who are not native speakers who have taken the Spanish SAT II and have gotten great scores.

I take real tests in each and see what score you are getting. I am not crazy about taking Math I for a school the level of Georgetown.
