hoping to transfer to nyu

hi, i wanted to ask a very quick question about nyu,and rutgers. Can you please tell me if i wanted to transfer after 2 years what the requirements woiuld be to transfer into nyu or rutgers, andd how high my gpa should be,and if i need to do any extra cirricular activities. thankyou for your help.

you ABSOLUTELY need to do ECs.

also, what school in NYU? there’s different situations for all of them. generally, you’ll want at least a 3.5 to even consider transferring. i had a 3.45 when i transferred to NYU Steinhardt but i had a really good internship, a job, a good HS record, good SATs and amazing essays.

hi,do you mind telling me what kinds of activities i should be looking to go into. I don’t know which one but i want to get a biology major from NYU. I don’t think i have to send my sats since i wanted to transfer after 2 years. Will a 3.4, 3.5 gpa get me into NYU, or Rutgers. Thank You.

a 3.4 will get you into NYU ONLY if you have a lot of other things going for you like a internships, EC’s, great essays, great niche… otherwise no way and you’ll still be on the bubble… I can’t speak necessarily for rutgers but I would assume you’d have a good shot

would you need to send them your highschool transcript because mine is not that good, and will that hurt my chances? I also have a job, and looking to joining a couple activities to strengthen my chances for NYU, and Rutgers.

It all depends on the certain major for the schools when GPA is an issue. I would have to say that if you were a Business major, you need a very competitive GPA and a great deal of extracurriculars.

Average GPA for NYU is around 3.7. It’s not matter of needing ECs, they should be activities you want to be involved in. AOs will see right through a fake application that has a bunch of ECs without any merit to them. Focus on a couple activities and take up leadership positions in them etc. to show that you are committed. The essay is also really important, especially as a transfer.
