Hey! If JHU is your top school and you can afford it, definitely apply ED. They take a good portion of the class in the ED round.

GPA: Both the UW and W GPA are little low at plain sight, try to finish the year strong to raise it up a bit!

APs: Good rigor, but if your scores turn out bad because of circumstances this year, don’t submit them.

ACT: IDK what your background is (race, income-level), so I can’t be a valid judge on that. Definitely try to raise that math score. I know you can do it! In my experience, I was able to raise my math score from 29 to 32 and my science score from 26 to 33. So, I know it’s possible. With your current score, you’re right on the edge. So try to bump it up a little bit.

EC’s:
Science Olympiad is good, but it would be really helpful if those awards are state-level or national-level. If you want to also show your strength in science, consider taking SAT subject tests.

Scholastic Bowl: same thing!
Medical Club: IDK what you do in the medical club. Some of these interest clubs are really good and some are really bad, so try to make yours innovative. Try something new and show originality.
XC and track: Yay! I’m an XC runner too! Keep going with it if you love it.

NHS and Spanish Honor Society: good activities to have, but if you want to quit something, here’s where to do it. These activities are a dime a dozen even if you have leadership positions.

Essays: Wow! You already have essays! Even if you think they are decent, get a teacher or anybody you trust to take a second look. There are a LOT of good writers at JHU because of its creative writing program. Take a look at the “Essays that Worked” on the JHU admissions page for some idea of what you’ll be up against and JHU admissions also host virtual essay help sessions in the fall.

Chances: Not knowing if you have any hooks and not enough information about awards, I would say you have a small chance, but it’s like hitting the lottery. You’re more likely to miss than strike gold. The best things you can do for yourself is raise that test score and really work on that “collaboration” supplemental. If JHU is your first choice apply ED. Good Luck!
