idk if they give good financial aid, but i know that people on this board don't mention Hopkins as one that gives great aid.

According to their website, over 50% of kids get financial aid ... Kiplinger's shows that about 11% of students are on a Pell Grant (low income) and average debt was very low... around $16,932 after 4 years.

Providence College, NYU, GWU, Villanova, Case Western and Baylor graduate students into about twice as much debt (~$30,000). Hopkins ranks 14th nationwide for least amount of debt at graduation so their aid must be good. According to Kiplinger's, about 62% of the financial is actually in a grant form.

Financial aid here is REALLY nice...I got a Bloomberg scholarship worth about $8,500 a year... an increase of like $2000 from last year. :D Thank Mr. Bloomberg.

Financial aid at Hopkins is determined on an individual basis, so one student's positive or negative impression of JHU financial aid will not really reveal much about the potential of financial aid for another student.

I strongly encourage all students applying to Hopkins, to utilize the financial aid estimator on the JHU Student Financial Services' Web site:

Sigh... I get no financial aid :(---unfortunately, there are some unusual circumstances in my family, even though we have a high income (supporting 2 other households in China, mentally unstable father who can't hold onto a job and racks up high hospital and damage bills on car/house... a mother who can't stop shopping... ahhhh, life.)
