Hi. I am lucky enough to have been accepted at Hopkins and Yale. I THINK I want to be some sort of engineer - maybe bio, but I also like computer science. What should I do??? Thank you.
Does net price differ or matter?
For academics, compare the curricula and upper level courses (required and optional) in each major at each school to see which fits you academic preferences for your majors better. Also consider what the general education requirements are at each school.
Thanks. Price is going to be the same. I’m not POSITIVE about my major. I just know I like building things, being creative, and science/biology.
Have you done a deep dive into the gen Ed’s and curricula in each major at both schools? Looked at the profs and their research focus? Any preferences there?
Generally would think JHU > Yale in engineering and CS. Bio maybe a pick ‘em.
Have you visited each school? Which location and overall vibe do you prefer?
Agree with this! For pure academics, I think JHU is much stronger than Yale, especially for computer science. I think something important to consider is the social scene and overall culture, have you gone to both accepted students days yet?
Not yet. The Yale accepted student event is at the end of April which is close to the deadline.
Have you checked out Yale’s Center for Engineering, Innovation and Design? They have some courses, but I think it’s basically a Yale-funded place to build and have fun!
