Results for 9th grade spots from NYC day school were recently mailed back. After narrowing down my choices, I cannot choose between three schools: Horace Mann, Collegiate, and Dalton. I am currently in the eighth grade. The school that would have the least travel time is Collegiate, then Dalton, and last Horace Mann. What are the Pros and Cons of each school? How do they compare to one another? All thoughts, advice, and help is greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your acceptance to three outstanding schools!

IMHO:

Collegiate:
pros - great curriculum, single sex (depending on your outlook), excellent college placement (take this with a grain of salt - C is an old school with many legacies, Ivies don’t accept from prep schools like they used to, etc.)
cons - single sex (depending on your outlook), campus is moving! <a href=“Collegiate School, New York’s Oldest Private School, Plans 17th Move - The New York Times”>Collegiate School, New York’s Oldest Private School, Plans 17th Move - The New York Times;

Dalton:
pros - co-ed, progressive

HM:
pros - co-ed, academic rigor, the kids I know in the the current 8th grade are high achieving, nice kids from nice families

In my opinion there all outstanding schools. As long as you do what you need to do durring your time in any of them, college admission shouldn’t be a problem. It just comes down to personal choice, and campus preference now. I suggest going on revisit days then choose your gut feeling.

I went on revisits and still can’t decide.
