Horatio Alger Scholarship

The Horatio Alger National Winners are out... I didnt win the national one but my friend did and I hope I have a chance for the state one. Conratulations to everyone!!

good luck to everyone else who applied for this this award.

Do you know when they announce the state winners?

To check, use this link: https://www.horatioalger.com//scholarships/2008awards.cfm?stype=??

In place of the "??", put your state abbreviation.

For example, California would be: https://www.horatioalger.com//scholarships/2008awards.cfm?stype=CA

Hope this helps!

I didn't get national but I won for California

I Won Texas Ahhhh!!!!

Ok, new website design won't let me see the state winners.
seems like the California scholarship got bumped up to 5000- for 50 students....

Congrats to all who got it. I didn't get the National nor the state ( I live in NC which is not a participant)

I was just wondering what did you guys write about? Was it about the things you had to overcome? What did you think made your application stand out?

are the results all up? or are they still missing some states/counties? l

I won the Missouri scholarship in 2005. I do not mind posting my essays since I still have them.

how did you check the texas one? the website the work at the moment owlie

It says I won in California-Orange County.

Will I receive information about this in the mail? I'm not very aware of what and when I will be awarded.

I got the California!! But I don't know if it's $2,500 or $5,000. Don't care. Four of my other friends also won state. Congratulations to all scholars, and if you didn't get it--NO BIG DEAL. There are millions of amazing scholarships for everyone.
