My friend is worried about transfering to cornell. He had horrible HS grades (2.7 gpa) but I told him that he should still apply. He is very smart and really began focussing in college. He is in an agreement institution taking the hardest classes the school offers (this semester alone he is taking (Calculus, Organic Chemistry 2, Biology 2, Honors English 2, Honors Abnormal Psych and Pychics for Bio Majors) He has all required courses for CALS and a 3.97 GPA-- He is salso in PTK . Does he stand a chance even though he was a bad student in high school.

course he does…esp if he is a NYS student…

Yeah tell him to apply anyway! If he doesn’t apply he definitely wont get in. His GPA is high and who knows? Maybe they’ll look at his HS GPA and his new GPA and realize he got his act together and maybe they’ll take him.

But whatever the case may be, he should def still apply.

I was in the same situation and got in. Only I was a HS dropout in 10th grade before going to community college. It’s definitely realistic if he can demonstrate fit.

100% possible. In fact, Cornell loves those kind of stories.

K so the jigs up! I was scared to write that the one with the bad HS grades was me! So it was wierd, I have the Application infront of me and I got to the section about HS and I became petrified. From what you guys are telling me, My transformation should be the focus of my essay?

^it was obvious, and yes, you prob should. hopefully it’s somewhat interesting as well, demonstrating personality, but it probably would have to.

lmao yeah it really was… anyway, I have a suggestion in case you don’t have many people to review your essay.

go to www. essay forum . com < without spaces obviously.
