I'm a senior and am planning on applying to some colleges with rolling deadlines. I know that the earlier you send in your app the better chance you have of getting in. My problem is that I took the SATS once in june and did pretty bad. I wanna take it again in October but I still wanna apply early. My friend suggested that I apply now and send in my October scores wen I get them but I'm afraid I'll get rejected based on my June scores before I get a chance to send in my october ones. So should I send in my app as soon as possible or wait until I get my october scores to apply?

basically which one matters more: EARLIER APP or BETTER SAT SCORE

Well I think that it depends on the SAT score and on the colleges. It is kind of hard to determine without the knowledge of those two things.

1150/1600 and the colleges are U PITT and RUTGERS.

I would think a better SAT score is definitely more important than applying early. I don't think there is any advantage to applying this early. If my kids are any example, you will probably due better on the SATs senior year simply because you've had more school and are older, and if you prepare for them you will do even better. Some kids do even better in the December SAt thant the Oct one. Also it is more important to allow yourself time to do a really good job on your application than to rush it in. During senior year your guidance counselor and teachers will probably help you with your essays and your app in general. Take your time, due the best you can, just don't wait till the last minute.

You just need 100 points better to be a good prospect. You still have a shot with over a 3.6 gpa.
