Is there any way at all to move dorms at this time in the semester? Or is your only option off campus housing?

Two friends of mine are having a really horrible time with their suitemates (two girls they are sharing bathroom with) (loud music, won't clean bathroom, etc etc), you know, normal stuff but it has been escalating. Today there was an incident where they left a male alone in their room and for some reason he went through the bathroom to my friends' room and ended up harrassing them.

The RA won't do anything. So they want to move. Is there anything else they can do? Who can they tell that will actually do something?

The RA is an employee. As with any job, there is a chain of command. The RA is their first step for help with a housing problem. Make sure that 1) they have spoken directly to the suitemates and 2) they have spoken sincerely and seriously with the RA. If both of these have happened and "The RA won't do anything" then they go to the Hall Coordinator.

[quote] Hall and Assistant Hall Coordinators
Hall Coordinators are full-time professional staff members with training, education and experience in managing residence hall operations. Hall Coordinators live and work in the residence hall and are responsible for the supervision of a residence area. They select, train and supervise Resident Assistants. They encourage the development of community programs, assist with advising and disciplinary concerns, and perform administrative duties. Hall and Assistant Hall Coordinator report directly to the Area Coordinator. Their offices are located in the respective areas.

I would guess that the reason the RA hasn't done anything is because your two friends have not had a direct conversation with the suitemates. If the friends have tried to speak with the suitemates and the RA is not offering any assistance despite a sincere and serious request for help, it is time to go to the Hall Coordinator.

Meanwhile, while they are in their own room, they should lock the door from the bathroom to their room, and when using the bathroom, they should lock the door from the bathroom to their suitemates' room.
