I’m applying for social sciences. And ACT tests are not offered in February here, so I guess it’s not an option…

oh and im guaranteed an 750+ on my SAT I math mark, math is one of my best subjects, the 640 is NOT a good representation of my skills in math. It was my first time taking ANY sat test and i wasn’t in a good physical condition. The problem is I can’t really prove it to them…sigh

^So you have to take the SAT I in January and submit the 640 as well. Best of luck.

Just focus on the SAT I for now and see how it goes. Have you done the SAT Practice Test that is online at the College Board website? It is a previously administered SAt and will be a good resource. There is also a thread on the SAT Prep Forum about the hardest math problems from previous SATs that you should look at.

your not ‘guaranteed’ anything :s
i scored regular 800s on practice tests but made 2 mistakes in the actual apparently and fell to a 740… =/

I got an 800/36 on the Math. I say you can guarantee a high score. Just do AMC12, and once you score 136/142 you will probably get an 800/36 with ease.

The good thing about a low SAT II score is that you can retake it: I also got a 640 on Math IIC on my first try. I retook it again after another semester of math, and I got a 770.

If the rest of your application is perfect, and your other scores are high, it shouldn’t matter too much. If you have a 4.0 GPA and 800s on the SATs (other sections), they won’t care about one lousy 640. And that’s just an example. They’ll probably let you in with as low as a 3.0 GPA and 700s on the other SAT sections. I bet you’ll get in though. All schools look for diversity, and seeing as you’re an international student, you’re bound to get in. If you’re still not sure, just take it again. What harm can that do?
