Horrible score on my first try....

<p>Hello all.... i just wanted to ask for some advice on how to improve myself on the SAT's..</p>

<p>i've practiced with the BB, then the 12 kaplan practice tests, and i did the BB again...</p>

<p>well, my scores averaged in the 2100's....</p>

<p>but on my december test, my score was unbelievably low...</p>

<p>i can't even post my score because it's that embarrassing.</p>

<p>I have a big time trouble in the CR section so i decided to buy the DH vocab books and start working on those.</p>

<p>How can i improve my score in the CR...? and also in writing?</p>

<p>I know any practice tests besides the BB is not credible.. How am i suppose to practice then?</p>

<p>Give me some tips please... I am in desperate need of help....</p>

<p>If you've done all of the tests in the BB, College Board has 6 online tests that you can take.</p>

<p>For CR - practice, practice, practice. I know you've done 8 tests but do some more. Don't just absentmindedly work them, make sure you understand the ones you get wrong. That's the key to improving. For sentence completion - vocab. DH is good.</p>

<p>For W - same sort of thing, practice. Learn how to write a good SAT essay and just practice a whole bunch of multiple choice.</p>

<p>Just don't use any practice tests that aren't made by the CB.</p>

<p>as you practice them.... you kinda memorize what the answers are... hmm...</p>

<p>You need to sign up for the CollegeBoards "Official Online SAT Course". You can find it on their website under SAT Prep.</p>

<p>I strongly recommend that you print out the tests before you answer them though, since reading paragraphs on computers and on paper (at least for me) are two different things.</p>
