do colleges weigh your first two quarter senior year grades the same as your other years'? b/c in the first quarter, i was close to failing in an AP class so i dropped down to the regular level but it was almost at the end of the marking period so my grade carried over and is now a permanent blemish on my first mp grades. if i improve my second quarter and prove that i'm not really as dumb as that grade may reflect, will colleges focus more on the improved grade? thanks for any replies!

the class was calculus btw, a subject that i have absolutely no interest in pursuing

Yes, but it does make an impression, if your mark improved during the second quarter then it will hurt less...
