Horrible start of senior year

I used to be a straight-A (usually above 95%) student after one week of my senior year, I have a D+ in AP Eng Lit and my grades for other classes are barely in the A range.

What should I do? Now my classes have so much works, even more so than the weeks before AP Exams in my junior year. I thought senior year gonna be fun and relatively easy. Now I have to rest my hope on my early admission in December to --- University, which is my dream school but now I seem to doubt myself on that too. What if that doesn't happen?

I know this is a good opportunity for me to show dramatic progress, but starting out with a D? That's just depressing.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Don’t freak out, you’ve been in school for a week.
You have so much freaking time to get your grades up.
Teachers like to start kids off with F’s anyway…

Don’t panic and give up. That will lead to a downward spiral. Just use this first week as motivation, and in the words of Kobe, “Go to work, go to work, go to work.”

lol… are you serious? you probably have like what, 2 assignments in the grade book?

I have a D+ in AP Lit too right now haha. There’s only one assignment in. It’s no big deal!

Teachers often start off giving everyone really bad grades. They think it scares 'em to work harder, and also gets the lazy ones to drop their classes. It’s stupid, but that’s what your teacher is doing. Don’t play into his/her hands. Hang in there. This will get better.

lol a D+? Do those even exist?

Its alright- just don’t do what I did last year and like decide you R going to fail so just give up, not study and moan in your bedroom. WE are rooting for you! Everything will be OK

It happens…

Thanks guys. I guess I have to deal with this and not give up.

It’s my fault anyway, we had three quizzes in the English class on the first day, and I didn’t study at all.

Omg, you are my twin! Same here, we’ve only been in school a week and I have two Bs so far and I’m a straight-A 4.833 student going for val this year! Looks like I won’t be getting it. I sure as hell hope this doesn’t set the precedent for the year. If anything, it should just motivate us to try harder and get those grades up and not fall victim to senioritis.
