HORRIBLE STUDENT! Chances of getting into a solid school?

Hey, i'm a junior and just this year realized the importance of school, and how i have messed up badly all through high school. I just wanted to know from you guys if i have a chance at getting into any decent school.

FRESHMAN YEAR: 74% C average
SOPHOMORE YEAR: 79% C+ average
JUNIOR YEAR: (1st semester) 88% B+ average

Sorry i don't know what my gpa is, but those are my letter grades. I am taking a class twice per week for the act, and i'm totally sure i will do well on it. Also, I hear everywhere that my high school is extremely hard, and colleges will recognize that? Lastly, when it comes to extracurricular stuff, i don't do much besides varsity hockey, and varsity golf.
So if i continue to improve junior and senior year, will i have a good chance at getting into a respectable college? I'm so nervous, and depressed because i feel that i have messed up my entire high school average with my freshman and sophomore years. The thought of having to go to community college is horrible!

OH YEAH I FORGOT ONE HUGE THING:
during my freshman and sophomore years, i had this weird disability with my eyes. from the beginning of my sophomore year, to about the end of it, i had to go a special doctor and do therapy 3 times a week in order to fix what was going on. i was pretty confused as to what the whole thing was, but the doctor told me that some people flunk high school with the problem i had, and said that having a C average wasn’t my fault.
Will colleges understand this? I am a good test taker, and when i do well on the act’s i don’t want them thinking that because of my very low gpa, but high test scores, i am a lazy student

mention it, trying adding in papers, alot of students have trouble, some have family issues that excuse a drop in grades.

If you can keep up that B+ or higher for this year and senor year, join a couple of EC’s and get a job and do Extra Community work.

You can get into a nice college.

thanks for the reply!

come on, anyone else’s opinions?

what state/city is your high school in?

I agree with JoshBanya. You won’t be applying to super highly ranked colleges with that, but you’ll be able to get into a solid university.

If you’re not clear on what was wrong with you, you should make contact with the doctor to A) clear that up and B) have him create a small letter you can photocopy and have him sign explaining WHY you were having a hard time due to this medical issue.

You just don’t need to apply to the top colleges.
Best of luck!

ok cool, does anyone have any colleges they might recommend for me? and pqr - my high school is the #2 high school in connecticut, or atleast thats what i hear
