This year all of my teachers are alright except for my physics teacher. He grades so strictly i.e takes off 20% for not putting 'pole' in 'south or north pole'. It's really pathetic, basically a self study class and I think I have somewhere around a low C or even a D!!!!! I do all of my work and he doesn't grade homework - only gives quizzes about the homework and grades those. I'm usually an A- student so this is stressing me out

How can I accustom to his strict grading ways? I know many of you have had terrible teachers in the past, and I need your advice to get through this year. It's still the second week of school and I can definitely turn things around. CC, any tips on how to accustom to an irrational teacher?

Eh, I
ve had one of “those” teachers before…it
s something that just takes time getting used to…I mean, yes, it
s annoying, more than annoying, very…bad, since it
s not fair you
re not getting the grade you deserve. But in college you
ll have to deal with that, in life you`ll have to deal with stuff similar (Not grades, but you get my drift…)
Anyhow, the best I can say is that you just need to know that 1) This doesnt define you as a student, and that 2) Its still possible to achieve a good grade. You just have to get in the mindset of your teacher and before turning something in, check to make sure it`s up to his standards...

I don’t think that is all that crazy, you just have a strict teacher/have never had one before. I have had teachers who were very similar or extremely picky over things that people would call irrelevant. You get used to it, you have no choice. Act mature, starting meeting their expectations and do it quickly or your grade will suffer (this is how I got my first quarterly C).
