dude chill out. grades are not your life

You're a little twat.

I think it's good for you that your teacher doesn't scale and is giving you realistic expectations in life.

Calm down. Take a deep breath. A B- on a quiz doesn't automatically "doom" you to a B (unless your term ends very soon), and even if it does, it's only a quarter grade. Your final average may be higher.

but I am borderline A-/B+ and his final exam (10% of year grade) is probably going to drag down my grade! AHHHH!

Aww:(
:D :D :D

Maybe getting a "B" will learn ya to study.

You're not even that close to the final exam! There's still plenty of time to raise your grade. And a B+ isn't going to kill you!

Everyone else failed... He did scale the quiz big time... Hes not a great teacher and he planned the test two weeks after we had learned the material and starting learning something else

You think you had it bad. I was scheduled to attend one of the most prestigious scientific conferences in the world and present my poster reseach there. You know what happened, three flights were cancelled, the fourth didn't have a captain to fly, and the next two days are books. Now that's bad, getting several bad grades aren't going to kill you, stop trying to get attention. (Sorry I'm being rather rude, but still you can bring your grade up while I will never have my opportunity again.)

This thread reminds me of my favorite song, By All Accounts(Today was a Disaster) by Emery.

Just the title really. :) It made me happy to think of that song.

But the complaining over a B grade definitely made me feel pity. Wow, you are one very lucky person if the only thing that makes your week horrible are related to your grades.

^^(to Yoshi729) I'm sorry, but seeing how this is CC, I think you would have the same, if not more frustrated, reaction as me...

OMG, I just bombed another chemistry test! The teacher did not tell us whats on it, and so I BSed the first page! The multiple choice was so hard... dang

Get over yourself. Your just searching for compliments from us. Problem is though, we all find you a prick.

^How many Bs have you gotten on your report card? Yeah, thats right

I'm having a horrible week too. First I got a D on my chem test. ( my own fault. I didn't pay attention to the lecture, do the homework, or study), second I got a 100 on my math quiz (this was bad. It made my average go from an A to a B), third I wasn't able to get in touch with TASP, fourth the lecture I was looking forward to for months wound up being all material I already knew, fifth I have to do another discussion for my economics class that I didn't know was due, and sixth my mom is making me put the sheets on my own bed (I never like doing this.)

This was all a rant. Noone has to read it or comment on it. I am not looking for anyone's sympathy.

I'm not sure I get what you're saying. Yea, I've gotten an occasional B but I don't create threads looking for sympathy over a freakin 84%. Sure a B isn't the greatest thing in the world, but it's by no means horrible. While you are all butthurt about your B, there are other people in this world who don't even have enough money to put food in their mouth.

^In my parent's opinion, getting a B is the worst thing that could ever happen (for me)

^ what about getting a C?

anywayss... i got a 1.5/9 on an AP Computer Science AB quiz, and i'm not freaking out.

Well you need to learn to not care so much about what you're parents think. In the end, its your life. If you stress out this much over a B, you're gonna have one hell of a time throughout college, and life for that matter. A B is a solid grade, and it's no where near the end of the world. Appreciate what you have, and don't stress over things that you don't.

Fortunately, I haven't gotten a C on anything this year... The lowest grade I can get is a B
