I saw the magnificent stable on campus, but I was wondering how much do students have to pay to ride (and for what - clothes, lesson fees?) What if you are a part of the riding team?
I really don't have any money to spend on this, so is it possible to work something out with the financial aid office?

Take a look at this link:

[Mount Holyoke College :: PE Riding Classes](http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/equestrian/5665.shtml)

You can take riding classes to fulfill your PE requirement.

I asked about this and was told the group riding lessons costs 500usd per semester. I don’t know if they supply helmets for beginners, but it the don’t I would think at minimum you’d need paddock boots and a helmet, and possibly gloves if the reins irritate your hands. You can probably get those three things from Dover Saddlery ([Dover Saddlery - Quality English Horse Tack & Horse Supplies for the Equestrian](http://www.doversaddlery.com)) for not too much when they are all on sale.
