Which hospital is better-- St. Joe's or Memorial? My daughter has type 1 diabetes.

Shoot, I am not sure, but I have heard good things about all the hospitals in South Bend. I think Memorial is closer but thank goodness I have not needed them!

I don't know about quality but neither is that far from campus. It's a drive to either, but they're both a few minutes drive south. So if you find one is better than another, go with it.

both hospitals will be able to satisfy your daughter's needs. I know that Memorial is a Level 2 Trauma Center and St. Joseph is a Level 3 Trauma Center. So, both are full of qualified people and great facilities.

Both are good. There is now a medical school in South Bend, through Indiana U, which gives an added advantage of being teaching hospitals.

There actually has been an IU medical school in South Bend for many years. They used to teach on ND's campus until the new medical school on Angela and Notre Dame Ave. was built. ND and IU are just going on a joint venture for research purposes.

I guess it is that fancy building--I never knew they were there before!
