<p>We were an AFS host family which involved a lot of effort from my daughter to help our student learn English and adjust to life in a US high school. It was fun but also, well, work. She doesn't really want to write an essay about it, but is wondering about including it as an EC in her common app. Should she just leave it out, or is there some way to mention it without it sounding like padding.</p>
