Hot Time in New Orleans Tonight!!!

Congrats to the New Orleans Saints!! I am guessing there is a lot of celebrating on campus tonight-- even for those for whom NOLA is only "home" 9 mos of the year.

great game. Go Saints!

I was rooting for the Saints, though I have a soft spot for Favre. Now on the the Super bowl!

WHO DAT!!! Go Saints!

The trouble is, our kids who may be at Tulane next year will have to deal with the Super Bowl Curse.

Meh… GO SAINTS!!!

That’s okay. Those of us who have followed the Saints since day one can live with the possibility of the “Super Bowl Curse”. ;)

^^Absolutely! Is there really a better feel good story out there right now? I don’t think so!

WHO DAT!! WHERE Y’AT!!

My daughter went with another Tulane student were at the game last night. Not fair, as this was the first NFL game she ever attended. Haven’t gotten all the feedback as she has a busy day today.

Lewmin: All I can say is… WOW!!!
I can’t imagine trying to drive home after a game like that, especially in NO!

How did she get tickets??? And I am guessing they didnt drive-- maybe took the trolley or a cab??? Bourbon St. must have been hopping!

Damn! I am sooo jealous! What a great thing for her though, she will always remember that atmosphere and all the excitement. That is a lifetime story.

I don’t have the details yet. Yes, she told me she was going to take the trolley. Her friend at Tulane had “a connection” through his dad but the seats were $300, normally $150, and the seats were in the lower tier. I said I’ll pay the base price, and she could pay the difference (she also works). After last night, I’m thinking of letting letting her slide for the balance.

She is actually a big fan, since going to school in NOLA…as when she was in from school (in NJ) on her winter break, she hooked up her computer to watch/listen to the games.

I remember, in the early 70’s, that Tom Dempsey, who only had half a foot on his kicking leg kicked the longest field goal in NFL history, 63 yards, to win a game against the Lions. It was at Tulane Stadium, on campus, the home of the Saints before the Superdome. That was probably the biggest highlight until now.

What a kick that was last night!
It looked to me like it could have made it from 63 yards too! He BLASTED it!!!
