How good is it really and where is it located?...i have an overwhelming feeling of getting the munchies tnite...

amazing and on stewart by becker

huh, what’s that truck near balch then?
i’ve always wondered…

hot truck is the name that is used to describe “food trucks” like the one near alice cook house and balch/risley halls…

the one near risley/balch is called “louie’s lunch” and is actually better IMO…simply because of the menu selections…

i see…
what’s the menu anyhow?
i’m suddenly having a craving for some chili cheese fries…

btw the hot truck truck next to alice cook is the one known as “hot truck” but both are technically hot food trucks…

http://www.shortstopdeli.com/hot-truck/

if you have a car you should also stop by short stop (just west of the commons) since it’s one of the few fast food/convenience stores (similar to nasties) that is open 24hrs…

thanks!
good to see that they have reasonable prices.

In “the old days”, West campus housed mostly undergrads, and the hot truck was open every night. We used to make “truck runs”, often, where one guy would take orders for everyone on the hall and then wait down at the truck for hours. Along with everyone else, from the other dorms, doing the same thing. It diverted a lot of time from studying, but those subs were really, really, good.

The truck had been there for years, serving generations of students, till the fellow retired and sold out to Shortstop. Now evidently it’s just operating on weekends or something?

it seems sort of a shell of its former self now, but it was an institution for us oldsters. Here’s more background

LOUIE’S. maven chicken cheese fries are bomb. get themmmmm.

I’m not a huge fan of hot truck, the menu is extremely limited(as are the hours), the menu entirely consists of pizza subs, and personally I don’t like how the tomato sauce makes the sub so soggy, and the overwhelming amount overpowers the flavor of anything else in the sub. That said most people seem to like it.

Now Louie’s however is great, and the menu is diverse so anyone can find something they like. Their philly cheese steak is so delicious.

hot truck is only open on weekend nights, and pretty much only drunk people go there after going out for their munchies.

louies is open most of the day and their selection is better, and as a freshman, you will probably go there much more.

i just had louie’s-
damn, it is amazing.
i think i’ll eat from louie’s instead of investing the same amount of money on some soggy salad from carol’s

imo, while i love it, louie’s is best kept for munchies and emergencies. otherwise your arteries will probably hate you.

love the french/sub bread they use! <3
