Hotchkiss and Taft Interviews Tomorrow: Eep!

Tomorrow I have an early morning interview at Hotchkiss and an afternoon interview at Taft. Has anyone already interviewed? What kinds of questions do they ask? Also, what should I expect experience-wise?

FYI and caveat to all: I’d be cautious about stating publicly exactly when your interview is/was…just in case an admissions officer is lurking.

Here is a suggestion: don’t tell either school that you are interviewing with the other, to extend you possibly can. It is none of their business. These two schools are rivals on many fronts, as I assume you well know. They push and shove enough. I don’t think that they need to know that they could be pushing and shoving over you. They just might think that you are not worth a fight. If so, then neither will make you an offer.

Mum’s the word.

Good advice from Toombs. You can simply say, if asked which other schools you are applying to, that it is early in the process and you haven’t decided for sure.

I can tell you that they always ask both child and parent (separately) where else you are applying. I have scheduled our tours/interviews in such a way that my D can answer honestly, and not give away info I would rather that particular school not have. If you haven’t visited a school yet, you are certainly not sure you will be applying - therefore you can tell the school you are currently interviewing with only the names of the schools that you KNOW you are applying to.
