Hotchkiss Class of 2016?

@LindaS That’d be me! And I’m already in contact with a current freshman at Choate (because of volleyball), but that’s a great idea - I could call Hotchkiss and ask if they could get me the e-mail of a student. And I liked how Hotchkiss was by itself, like its own little world, not to mention it was gorgeous. But there’s only two (if I remember right…) academic buildings where classes are held. On the flip side, Choate’s buildings are scattered around the town (which kind of freaks me out) but they have different buildings for each subject. It really stinks I can’t go to revisit days; no amount of trying will convince my mom. I am grateful I got into two schools, but the stress is overwhelming! If you can, please PM me with any info. you have about Hotchkiss! :D

I will be entering Hotchkiss this fall. I’m very excited.

Thanks for the info. Linda!
Where are you from, Milo?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using CC

I’m lucky enough to be only an hour away, in NY

Cool! I’m from North Jersey and I’m like, 2.5-3 hours away.

Aubrey, I definitely think you should go to Hotchkiss, where the cool kids like Milo, Swimmer, and I are going to be(: Lol just kidding, you should go to whichever you like best and you think is the best fit. If that’s Choate, then so be it.

Haha @kathryn6422. I thought it was Choate, but Hotchkiss’s personalized acceptance letter seemed so warm and caring I’m now back to square one. D:

I loved the acceptance letter! It was so like, personalized (for me at least)… I didn’t get any others because I didn’t apply anywhere else so I really can’t compare, but I really liked the letters from Ms. Beare and Mr. McKenzie!

I loved the chocolate bar. Anyway, don’t let us bias your choice!

Haha, don’t worry. Biases from all around, the only bias missing is from myself. I would honestly give anything to go to revisits! And, no matter which school I pick, I’ll be wearing blue during spirit days. hehe

Even though I already signed the contract, I’m going to the revisit day to get a feel for the place. It sucks that you can’t.

I know :frowning: It’s a mix of living far away and the expenses. Do you live near Hkiss?

A hour or two, but it’s a really nice drive.

Yeah Aubrey, sorry for the bias!!
I already signed the contract but I’m still going too, Milo. What sucks is that two of the Revisit days are days when I have performances for my school musical, so I have less days to choose from.

Yeah it sounds like fun. I can’t wait!

Me neither! I’m like counting down the days… Aaaahhhh I have this feeling like, “the rest of 8th grade doesn’t matter, I’m going to Hotchkiss”… I know that doesn’t really make sense because they get our final transcripts, but still…

Also I’m really annoyed because I had a 96 in science this trimester and now my oh-so-forgetful teacher lost 2 of my quizzes, gave me 0s, and dropped my grade to an 83. Normally, I wouldn’t care SO much in that situation, because my mom knows what happened and won’t freak out, but like, what is Hotchkiss going to think if the see my science grade went from 97 first trimester and an 83 second trimester… Ughh!

What days are you guys going to revisit?

Uhh I think the 2nd or the 5th. Not sure yet.

I got waitlisted, and i got rejected from the rest of the schoolls. I hope they accept me.

@ellypri123 Good luck, I hope you get in and join us next year
@kathryn9422 I’m going on the 5th- maybe I’ll see you there!

I might go on the 5th. There’s a diner in the town nearby that has the best food. I hope to stop there.
