<p>Congrats on HK. I’ve seen other “scholars” programs publicized out there (look on the Choate site)…I think it qualifies you for a stipend or something (plus a mention on your transcript).</p>

<p>Neither my son (who is THS, Class of '12) nor I know what is a Hotchkiss Scholar. For what it is worth, I was a Harvard Scholar eons ago. It sounds great but it never meant any scholarship money for me or my parents. It only provided that if I ever qualified for financial need while I was at school, Harvard guaranted my family and me that we would have funds available to allow me to graduate from school. I saw it as an insurance policy, but one we never used. Still, nice to have, I guess.</p>

<p>In at Hotchkiss as well (got a call this morning while I was at school due to the legacy thing). I am elated but my father literally burst out laughing when he saw the FA so…things are not looking too good for this Bearcat hopeful
