=====

Interviews:
I got off-campus for all of the schools except Middlesex (I didn't have an interview for MX)

Hotchkiss - it went pretty good. the interviewer was impressed and said that Hotchkiss is seeking for a student like me :) and he also told me that I had some advantages since I am an international student
Deerfield - it went ok-good.
Choate - It went good. Nothing so special though.
Andover - It was amazing. the Interviewer loved me and told me that I'll probably get accepted. The interviewer was also very impressed by my extracurriculars :)

=====

Essays:
Many people said that my ideas were brilliant for DA and Hotchkiss.

THANK YOU! :)

The interviewer told you, you would probably get accepted? I find that hard to believe, not because you’re don’t have a chance (you have a ok-good chance) just that I’m pretty sure they’re not allowed to say it. In the end it’s not the admissions officers who have the most input, it’s the teachers (that’s what my interviewer told me.) Were those their exact words, or did they say you were a strong candidate, two different things. I’m not trying to sound harsh (I always worry about that) I’m just wondering.

well she didn’t say “You will probably get in” but my mom told her that she’s worrying that I’ll get rejected and she disagreed strongly saying that I am a student that ANdover is looking for and I have many aspects they are looking for and stuff :slight_smile: something like that.

hey victoria, what happened to SPS?!?!?!?!
ur not applying anymore???

btw ur extracurriculars are amazing!!! JEALOUSSSSS

Haha well I am applyin to sps but I don’t think I’m going to get in (I messed up he interview and the essays) :frowning: well hope you get in though(I think you will)!

Thanks!

Andover looking for SSAT Overall 94th percentile and Class Rank 99th percentile. Overall, you look good and wish you a good luck.

well I am aware of that so I’m not betting too much on Andover. I don’t think my SSAT scores are good enough for Andover. However, I am happy with my SSAT scores since it has been only two years since I learned English and I believe that reading 92% is pretty good for that, so yea :)

Thank you :)!

@victoria010,
First, what country are you from? Being an international from China, I’ve heard lowers your chances. And second, you’re SSAT score is fine, except for the Verbal section. Can you take the February test?

I am korean :slight_smile: yea I know… My verbal score is… Arg. I don’t think I can since I didn’t register ;(

What grade are you applying forrr?

9th :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :)

honestly I hate stereotypes but I wonder why the extracurriculars of asian -I mean Chinese and korean students mostly…- are nearly the same

to answer your question of course you have a chance honey and I wish you the very best of luck

Haha yea they tend to be similar for some reason…

Thank you :)

saacha, I think it is more culture than specific country. For Asian people, it seems to be strange that American kids spend too much time on sports instead of academic area or art or music. I don’t think we have to say which is better or worse.

yes, mijiking that’s true. our family was so shocked when we first came to america - we were surprised that you could actually play a sport ( like a team sport) and compete and stuff.

From Andover, “The incoming class of 150 girls and 165 boys represents a median class rank in the top 1 percent and a median SSAT total score of 94 percent. Students will arrive on the Andover campus in September from 33 states and 25 foreign countries” - 2010 Aug.
