I interviewed at Hotchkiss a couple of weeks ago and today I received mail from Hotchkiss. One was from my interviewer talking about the interview and the other was the Dean of Admissions talking about my "unique and multiple" interests and attaching like 10 papers about what Hotchkiss offers in each of the areas i'm involved in.

Does this mean anything? Or are my dad and me getting our hopes up for a specific generalization(if you know what I'm saying).

I got a bunch of “departmental offerings” papers after I interviewed last year, which they seem to hand out based on demonstrated interest as per interviews. As a side note, I was admitted and do go to school there now. Don’t know if there’s a specific connection between these papers and admission to the school, but I would suppose that if you demonstrated such relevant interest, then that probably means your application has something that stands out from the crowd.

If you have any more questions about Hotchkiss, feel free to let me know :)

After my son interviewed for Hotchkiss last year and expressed his interests in various academic areas, he received no “departmental papers”. Maybe the school sent him no such papers because his interview was not on campus. Who knows? Well, papers or not, the school offered admission to my son, he accepted that offer and he now absolutely loves Hotchkiss. So, from my son’s point of view, “departmental papers” mean nothing, for what that is worth.

Lol, A7X, I’d like to think they like us
I realize that these papers might not have a correlation to acceptance, I was just wondering and threw this question out here.
Anyway, thanks toombs and GrammarFairy.

A7X, I too hope that you attend THS. Hotchkiss is indeed a remarkable school. The more my son and his family see and learn about Hotchkiss, the more pleased we are that he is attending school there. Although neither my son nor I had even heard of Hotchkiss until about a year ago, Hotchkiss almost daily exceeds our highest expectations for a prep school in every way imaginable. While my son was accepted or WL’ed last March at all but one of the 10 excellent schools to which he applied, he, his mother and I sensed that THS would be the best “fit” for him. Our hopes, thoughts and prayers here have been reaffirmed constantly.

Good luck, A7X. I hope that my son sees you at Hotchkiss next year.

I had an phone interview for Hotchkiss and my interviewer said it was the best phone interview she had ever had for 10 years. Is this a good sign?
