very selective school 20% acceptance rate. 93 percentile SSAT.

check out the schools website.

It’s pretty selective.

Salisbury 10 Hotchkiss 5 2009 Men’s Lacrosse score.

Sarum- what time did it end?

It was a night game. I’m not sure, I think it started around 7 or so.

Son (Salisbury '04) was there – good game, and on top of the hockey victories this year a little payback for the hammering Hotchkiss put on Salisbury in football this year

Thanks- I had a family member there, out of cell phone range. They were surprised when I knew the score before they walked in! THe power of the internet!

… oh well unexpected things have to happen SOME time I mean if we on every game it would get a bit repetitive. Great job though it seems our cross town rivals are as deadly as ever.

I understand that Salisbury is “deadly” in baseball too. (My son, who plans to enroll in Hotchkiss this fall as a lower mid, hopes to play baseball for the school next year.) What is the scouting report on both the Bearcat and the Salisbury teams for this spring?

Toombs judging by the information below, it would be safe to say that Salisbury should be pretty good in 2010.
I’ll let a “kissy” post their baseball team’s outlook.

Salisbury Baseball -
2008 20-0 (Young Division Winner, WNEPBL Champion)
2007 15-2 (Young Division Winner, WNEPBL Runner-up)
2006 16-2 (WNEPBL Co- Champion)

2009 So far Salisbury has one loss to Avon Old Farms. Sarum’s Record is 6-1. They play Hotchiss 5/19/09 I think it is the last regular season game for both schools.

But I will say Hotchkiss seems to be having a bit o’ trouble this year on the diamond.

http://www.hotchkiss.org/Athletics/sche_team.asp?TeamID=289

As I thought, Salisbury seems to have a deadly baseball team. Looks like they have been strong for several years and should be stout for the years to come. Although the stats for the Hotchkiss baseball players are less than those of the Salisbury kids, I have to hope the Bearcats SAT’s are better.

For some the scores are better, but not all.

With Salisbury getting big bulls like Hewitt (first round pick '08 by Philadelphia Phillies) and Dwyer (38th round selection '08 by NY Yankees), Hotchkiss better be getting big brains that Princeton, Yale and Williams want.

Some of Salisbury’s sporting teams have been sending kids to those schools. Harvard as well.

Sounds like Salisbury is becoming quite an athletic and academic powerhouse. Such a development should only press Hotchkiss to stay up with the competition, especially in baseball, if nothing else.

Salisbury’s Hewitt chose to sign with the Phillies over a full ride at Vanderbilt.
Dwyer (also a heck of a football player) smartly chose to go to Clemson.
