Does Hotchkiss ever give full financial aid? I know it's all based on need but I was wondering if this ever is the case, even if it isn't common.
And are they need blind?

Thanks!

I am sure it does. I have no doubt that financial aid at most schools runs the gamut from partial assistance to full grants.

As for “need blind,” the only school I am aware of that claims to be need-blind is Andover.

Right on their FA web page - featured:
[The Hotchkiss School - Admission - Financial Aid](<a href=“Financial Aid | Connecticut Boarding School | The Hotchkiss School”>Financial Aid | Connecticut Boarding School | The Hotchkiss School)
“Range from $6000 to full tuition.”

I’m pretty sure Exeter is need blind

Yes Exeter is need-blind too I think…

Exeter is not need blind.

It’s under guidelines:

Well, if Exeter is genuinely interested in a student who is applying for full FA, wouldn’t Exeter accept him or her? Thanks for the helpful information, too, Neato.

Of course! As will almost any school. PEA is very generous with aid and I guess that leads people to think that it is need-blind when, in fact, it has never actually claimed to be. It does, as does Groton and SPS, have a policy where any admitted student with under a certain income will receive a full grant, but that is not the same as being need-blind.

GemmaV had a wonderful post some time ago that did a great job of explaining what need blind really means. I’ll see if I can find it.
