<p>I was just wondering what the pros and cons of each of theses schools. if someone knows anything about either of these schools that would be awesome.</p>
<p>I don’t know much about either, but I do know that Hotchkiss is a very prestigious school. Blair is very good academically but not as prestigious as Hotchkiss.</p>

<p>Yes, happy searching. Hotchkiss’s acceptance rate is lower that Blair and it’s in the Ten Schools Organization. There are also differences in size, location, diversity, FA. Search on the websites.</p>
<p>I am very familiar with both of these schools and would be happy to answer any subsequent questions that you might have. Both of these schools are good institutions and have a lot in common such as relative size (Blair is 450, Hotchkiss is in the upper 500s), a good sports program, vast extracurricular offerings, and rigorous academics. That being said, there are some big differences. </p>
<p>Although both of these schools are somewhat isolated, Blair has a town virtually right next to it (when I mean town, I mean small run down town but it is a town with a movie theatre, some restaurants, a convenient store, some shops, etc.) Hotchkiss, however, is virtually in the woods, and the closest town (I believe) is an approximately a 10 minute car drive. I do not know how important a town is to you or what type of environment you prefer, but I think that is important to consider. </p>
<p>Also, in terms of sports and extracurriculars, both schools have some great options to choose from. Hotchkiss is known for having a great debate team, swim team (I think), and lacrosse team. Blair is proclaimed as a wrestling powerhouse (consistently ranked as 1 or 2 in the nation out of every high school not just bs for the past 30 years), a great basketball team, and a very strong sports program overall. </p>
<p>In terms of academics, both schools are very good, but Hotchkiss is definitely known to be more rigorous. Some say in your junior year, you won’t go to bed any night before 2 am. That is some people, others probably have better time management, so that is probably not the case for everybody. Hotchkiss is known to be a very prestigious and completive school. Although Blair has a completive academic program, it is not as rigorous as Hotchkiss’.</p>
<p>On the whole, Blair has a very tight community with a great sports program, and competitive academic program. Hotchkiss is a prestigious New England prep school in the woods, with a prime location next to a lake, and a very rigorous academic program. Lastly, both schools have picturesque campuses. I do not know what you are looking for, but hopefully my opinion might help.</p>
