Say you were applying for 10th grade is it that much harder than applying for 9th?

ooo i wanna know this :)

In general, the acceptance rate for 10th grade is about the same as 9th at most schools. A quick look on the Hotchkiss web site did not give me any indication they would be different. Less get in, but fewer apply. That said, I think it was NYer22 that tells us that the pool of applicants is a bit more competitive.
At almost all of our interviews we asked how many new 10th graders are there (or we would clarify if the info was inthe view book or on the web). We were asking more for how the students fit in socially. Another question I would ask (that we didn't) is what kind of study skills/organization stuff (depending on the student of course) would they miss by coming in 10th grade, but that's off the subject here sorry.

Thanks Linda S.

wetwinz, i have talked to some of the admission officers before and i know the general idea of how many 10th graders get accepted to several schools. pm me and if i know it ill tell you :D

i think sps has the same level of admission, just out of inference, because since sps is such a well-known school and accepts many many 10th graders, many many apply. if you've noticed on cc everybody mentions applying to sps for sophomore
