What are they like? Can anyone give me more information about them? Possible questions, setting, etc? Any information will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Are you doing your interview on campus, or off campus?

off campus

If it's off campus, I heard it varies a lot. One person told me they had an interviewer who asked question after question after question (like..no conversation; just asked off a list). Another told me that there were barely any questions at all- pure conversation.

And the setting/location (coffee shop, restaurant, bookstore, etc.) is different for everyone as well- you should get this info when you contact the alum who is conducting your interview.

"The interview is one of the evaluative measures used by the admissions committe in the selection process. You should approach it in a professional, well-organized manner

thank you guys!

does anyone have more tips?

My interview was at a country club and I really enjoyed it. It was about an hour long and it was more conversation than interview. My interviewer would talk about things shed learned and how she uses her education now etc. and I'd chime in talking about my experience, etc. We really hit it off, she said she had interviewed several applicants in the past and I was the only one with a true desire for the major. Make sure you know enough about the school and be ready to answer some questions and let your passion come trhough. Then again, it all depends on the interviewer, I've heard some just stick to the questions given my the school. I keep in contact with my interviewer and she wants to hear from me as soon as I get their decision.

I know that this post is over three years old, but do you guys remember if we have to dress formally or not?

In addition, how important is this interview in relations to your college admissions into the hotel of administration? How does this impact the colleges decision?
