hello, we are coming up to visit and need a hotel room for this sunday night (one night only). Don't need anything fancy, just clean. Does anyone have any recommendations. Thank you :)

Hotels closer to campus tend to charge much more money. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn Airport or Carrier Circle locations, Hilton Gardens Carrier Circle. both are about 10 minutes away. A new Hampton Inn opened recently on Erie Blvd. which is closer but possibly more $. This is our fourth year of going to Syracuse and all are very good. There are many more options at Carrier Circle which is located off ERie at Thompson. Hope this helps.

When it’s not parent’s weekend, I have stayed at the Sheraton for the convenience. But for good value, Best Western in Liverpool - 10 minutes away right off the highway is very cheap and clean, with a free breakfast.

Ditto Carrier Circle: at least three Marriott brand hotels as well; pick your hotel chain; they are all there.

And can I recommend Justin’s for dinner? Very good; right near the hotels

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Liverpool when we visited last spring. No more than 15 min. from campus–very convenient.

Stay at the Sheraton and have a pitcher of beer at Chucks for $2 (or $5 for “good stuff”). OK, other places are cheaper, but it’s nice to be able to walk around SU and Marshall St. We usually take our dog, which is OK at the Sheraton. You’ll be gouged on busy wknds, but about $150 on a non-important wknd.

I just booked the Sheraton, decided to spend a little more to get a better feel for the campus. We will be going to Justin’s for dinner, and Chucks for the “good stuff”! I appreciate you all taking the time to advise me :)

Varsity - perhaps (my opinion) best pizza. Chucks - visited weekly for those 4 years in the 80’s.
