hotel/ hospitality management programs

Hi,

Does anyone have a list of the top 10 hotel/ hospitality management programs - aside from Cornell? Has anyone visited these campuses, or is a current/ past student? Finally do any of these programs have support for students with a learning disability?

Many thanks!

Look at University of Denver. Nice hotel school. Also a fully supported LD program. I think the LD program is extra but Denver's tuition is lower to begin with.

I know Coastal Carolina has one but a student better be very sure that is going to remain their major because internships start the first semester. You could easily wind up on the 5 year plan if you change your major.

UNLV!!! is the best after Cornell.

It's not a ranking, but CHRIE put out a great book listing all of the accredited US programs with costs, requirements, and lots of other information. Here is a link to a description of the book:
<a href="http://www.chrie.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3394%5B/url%5D">http://www.chrie.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3394</a>
You can find more about CHRIE here:

If the links don't work, just google CHRIE.( It stands for something like Council for Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education.)
While I've given the link to buy the book, your library should have it and your guidance counselor may. I'm just posting the link so you can see what it is.

Some other good ones are:

Michigan State
Florida State
Purdue
Penn State
Johnson & Wales is very specialized for hosp. management as well

University of South Carolina

The Conrad Hilton School of Restaurant and Hotel Management at the University of Houston is top-notch (<a href="http://www.hrm.uh.edu/cnhc/ShowContent.asp?c=4675%5B/url%5D">http://www.hrm.uh.edu/cnhc/ShowContent.asp?c=4675</a>)</p>

I'd also add votes for UN Las Vegas and the University of Denver's programs.

Other schools with good hospitality management programs that haven't been mentioned yet:

Rochester Institute of Technology
Widener University (PA)
Michigan State
Florida International U
Northern Arizona University
University of Delaware

And, an alternative to undergrad work in the field is the graduate program in hospitality management at NYU.

NYU has one

NYU's is only a graduate program, I believe.

Virginia Tech - and they have their own hotel & conference center

A few people I know really liked BU's program.

Temple has a program, I know a high school senior that was very impressed by their program and will be attending it this fall.

NYU does have an undergrad program, it is in the School of continuing studies but you have to apply through NYU with a traditional app not the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
What is not clear is it you change your major how easy it is to transfer to one of the other schools within NYU.
